The system
The emergency luminaires already in your ceiling stay where they are. We add a small sensor module to each, plus one low-profile hub on the wall, and the rest happens in the cloud.
01 Sensor node
A LoRa-radio sensor module that lives behind the diffuser. Watches mains, switches the fitting to battery on a schedule, reads the lux it produces from the integrated sensor, reports up to the base on a 90-second heartbeat. Drop-in retrofit for any existing emergency luminaire.
02 Base hub
PoE-powered hub the size of a smoke alarm. Talks LoRa to every sensor node in the building, talks Ethernet to the portal. Queues bulk commands like "calibrate all" or "test every fitting tonight at 02:00." One per building, usually; large estates run two.
03 Portal
BS 5266 logbook that fills itself in. Floor plans with each fitting pinned. Per-building dashboards with green / amber / red status. The annual certificate exports as a signed PDF on the day it's due. Live status, audit history, full operator + facility-manager separation.

Deployment
Walk the floor with the facility manager, mark each fitting, pin the floor plan in the portal.
Wall-mount the PoE hub in the comms cupboard. One Cat-5e drop. Power on, claim in the portal.
5 minutes per luminaire. Drop in the sensor, scan the QR, bind it to the fitting on the floor plan.
Press one button. Every node runs a 30-second calibration; baselines are stored. You're done.
15-minute walkthrough on a sample tenant. We'll pin your floor plan if you bring one.
